Importance of Sports for Disabled Persons
The most important problem of disabled people is their inability to participate actively in life. WHO also states that it is a major public health problem that people with disabilities lead a more inactive life compared to the general population. It is seen that sports have a great contribution in eliminating this situation, and besides leading an active life, the risk of health problems that may occur due to inactivity can be reduced by sports.
In addition, we can add so many benefits of sports for disabled people and we can sort these benefits as follow:
- Increase in intellectual capacity and problem solving ability,
- Improvement in motor, balance, hand-eye coordination with the improvement in mental and physical capacity,
- Being accepted as an athlete instead of being disabled,
- Prevents isolation from society and helps to connect to life,
- Helps to develop self-confidence by increasing belief in skills and abilities,
- Improving social environment and increasing communication skills.
Except these articles, we can add too many things. These articles includes just most prominent ones. Plus, these artciles are valid for every human, but these are more important for disabled people.
Finally, with these benefits, we can easily say that, every disabled person has to do sport for improving their life quality. With sports, we can defeat disabilities.
